My Vintage Macintosh Re-capping Service offers comprehensive restoration for your cherished vintage Macintosh computers. One of my specialties is revitalizing the logic boards of these classic machines, ensuring their longevity and optimal performance.
Service Details:
- Initial Assessment:
- I will carefully inspect your vintage Macintosh computer to evaluate its overall condition and identify any potential issues.
- I will assess the logic board for leaking or bulging capacitors, which are a common cause of malfunctions in vintage Macintosh systems.
- Full Logic Board Cleaning:
- To ensure a clean and stable foundation for the restoration process, we will meticulously clean the logic board.
- I will remove accumulated dust, debris, and contaminants, which can impede the proper functioning of the components.
- Electrolytic Capacitor Replacement:
- I will replace the electrolytic capacitors on the logic board with brand-new, high-quality components.
- Electrolytic capacitors tend to degrade over time, causing instability and potential damage to other components. By replacing them, we restore the reliability and performance of your vintage Macintosh.
- System Validation:
- After the re-capping process, I will conduct a thorough system validation to ensure that all components are functioning correctly.
- I will test the Macintosh computer under various conditions, checking for stability, responsiveness.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- If I encounter any damaged traces or components during the re-capping process, I will attempt to troubleshoot and repair them.
- Please note that complex trace repairs may require additional labor and could incur extra costs. I will discuss these potential expenses with you via email before proceeding with any work.
- Refunds for Irreparable Damage:
- In the event that I determine your vintage Macintosh hardware is too damaged or repairing it poses a significant risk of further damage, I will not proceed with the repair work.
- In such cases, you will be fully refunded for any charges already paid.
- Please refer to the addendum regarding damaged hardware during the service for further details and conditions.
- Non-Functional Systems:
- If, despite our efforts, the re-capped system still does not function properly, you will only be liable for the cost of the components used during the service.
- Shipping and Handling:
- You are responsible for shipping your vintage Macintosh computer to our designated service center.
- After the completion of the re-capping service, we will securely package and ship your restored vintage Macintosh computer back to you. You are responsible for covering all associated shipping costs.
Damaged Hardware during Service:
- If hardware is damaged during the re-capping service due to my fault or negligence, the Customer will be entitled to a full refund of all parts and labor costs associated with the damaged hardware.
- If the Customer insists on proceeding with high-risk work after being notified about potential further damages, the Customer will be solely liable for any and all damages incurred to their hardware. In such cases, the Customer will be liable for all parts and labor fees associated with the requested work, as they would for a successful restoration.
